Registration Form
We have revised the design of Network Registration form - which can be accessed at this link when you are logged out (Please do share with your staff and networks and encourage those who have not yet joined to register - thanks). Something that has not changed is that we do ask for a lot of information. This is the cause of some debate internally and we have received some critical feedback from a few people in the network that we ask for too much information. From our perspective, within reason, the more that we can know about people's locations, jobs, organisations, priority development, communication and other relevant interests then the better we can respond to their priority concerns and interests. - and we can form, for example, country groups and networks.
This detail also helps Partner organisations who have in the past, by way of example, asked us to identify and connect with people in certain countries (eg Ghana wth 1,100 people in the network) or issues (for example all who checked Children and Rights so have an interest in Child Rights) or a combination of issues - for example everyone working for a UN org, in East and Southern Africa on Democracy and Governance issues. We need those details to respond to those needs. And this will also be very helpful as we begin to develop country networks and groups - for example everyone in the network who is in Nigeria or India or Jamaica or Uruguay in one facilitated community.
People are of course still joining! Yesterday for example 12 new people joined the network and a number of others revised their profiles.
There has been one innovatiion with the form.We are now asking people to include their social media links - eg their twitter account. We have a number of ideas for social media networks based on tat collective social media prescence.
Thanks - all comments and ideas would be really welcome.
